Planned expansions
The innovation concept of the Schossberger Palace of Tura - by the request of Tura Castle Ltd. - was worked out by one of the world's most acknowledged and experienced hotel industry consulting company; Horwath HTL. Among many, the management of the Seychelles Island hotel projects of the Demján group and the plans and constructions of the Buddha Bar and Hotel concept (opening soon at Klotild Palace Budapest) are also the fruit of their work.
During the reconstructions another wing - similar to the present one - will be built to the palace, making it a 120 room five-star hotel complex and conference center.
Since the value of the Neo-renaissance palace - designed by Miklós Ybl - lies in its originality, special attention is paid to preserving it in its original form, also reconstructing its valuable 10,2 hectares of park area with its exceptional botanical value.
Hotel facilities will include an open concept luxury restaurant, exclusive wine cellar in the basement of the palace, romantic garden walk paths and jogging tracks.
We are aiming at establishing a yet unknown quality in all categories that is unique; by this creating a new, separate category.
Compared to previous plans the start of reconstruction works were modified, since it is an extremely complex task overall, having 3 sections: the reconstruction of the old building, the attachment of the new wing, carrying it all out so as to have them harmonize with the park and the preserved values of the area. It is also important to win a strong international hotel chain for operation, because it is the only way - with such a room-number given - to stay in competition with the five-star hotels of Budapest by the River Danube. Due to the size and complexity of the project the preparations, plans of the hotel construction take longer to carry out. However, we are concerned, that it is necessary; it is the only way to assure long-term operation.
In strong co-operation with City of Tura local government we are constantly monitoring those EU tenders that aim at developing the Palace and the town of Tura as well, either at the same time or separately.
We are determined to make Tura the main tourist focus of the Galga-side, which might serve exemplary in the development of the area. We would be proud to become part of the "accentuated national project" campaign program in 2009 with our innovation concept, because based on our plans the "Palace hotel" of Tura with capital letters would come into existence, providing more than 200 workplaces.
The palace is yet in its phase before the reconstructions, being under constant conservational works inside and outside in the park of the palace, in strong co-operation with the Office of Cultural Heritage, keeping to its regulations.
Preliminary plans below were carried out by the designer office of Szántó & Mikó Architects, working together with Katalin Jelenik art relic professional engineer. Plans were agreed on by the Office of Cultural Heritage beforehand; however, more extensive elaboration will require some more work and planning.
